"1986년도에 180억원어치였으며, 지금 금값이 얼마나 올랐는지 알아? 최소 세 배야... 세 배!" 어릴적 집 나간 아버지를 그리워했고, 원망했던 주인공. 그러던 어느 날, 턱하니 3천만원짜리 13평형 빌라 하나를 남겨놓고 세상을 떠나셨다는 소식을 접하게 된다. 아버지를 용서하기로 하고, 그 빌라에 들어와 살면서부터 이 주인공의 일생이 꼬이기 시작했다. 3천만원짜리 빌라에 왜 이리 욕심을 내는지 도무지 알 수가 없다. 1986년, 세간을 떠들썩하게 했던 국회의원 살해사건, 범인은 다름아닌 수행원 중 한명과 운전기사로 밝혀진다. 언론에 대서특필되며, 사회적 분노 속에서 일방적으로 재판이 진행되고, 두 사람은 금괴의 존재에 대해 끝까지 함구한채 언제 끝날지 모를 기나긴 수감생활에 들어간다. 세인의 관심이 사라지고, 이제는 그러한 사건조차도 잊혀졌는데... 그 둘 중 하나가 위암말기 판정을 받아 조기 가석방을 받게 된다. 그리고, 아들에게 3천만원짜리 빌라를 유산을 남긴 채 죽게 된다. "그렇다. 풍년필라의 싯가는 3천만원이 아니라 500억... 500억짜리 13평형 빌라 였다."

In 1986, when Yugoslav nuclear power expert Lehmann came to the East China Sea to inspect nuclear power and question China's ability to build nuclear power plants, fitter Ye Jia Ming and buyer Lin Tian Chen, becomes his first supporters. But during the building of a plant, Tian Chen was corrupted by Ding Li, and accused by his superior, of variety of crimes. Feeling betrayed, Tian Chen resigns from his post and went to the United States, leaving his son Lin Qi to the Ye's family to raise. But what he didn't except, is that his son, will folllow his footstep, and as an adult become key figure, in developing nuclear weapons.

애거서 크리스티의 유명 캐릭터인 에르퀼 푸아로와 제인 마플이 등장하는 작품으로 옴니버스 형식으로 진행된다. 온가족이 보는 NHK 애니인지라 분위기는 원작들에 비하면 상당히 밝은 편. 소녀 캐릭터를 오리지널 주인공으로 내세우면서 추리물 치고는 전체적으로 부드러운 분위기로 진행되지만, 그래도 원작 사건에서 크게 벗어나지는 않는다. 원작 팬들 중에는 오리지널 캐릭터의 등장이나 일부 순화된 내용에 불만을 품는 경우도 있으나, 의외로 각색은 깔끔하게 잘 된 편이다. 인물상이 약간 변화하거나 생략되는 묘사 등은 있지만 이야기의 전체 흐름 자체는 거의 손을 대지 않았다. 주로 남녀 관계라든지 어린이들에겐 약간 부적합한 부분이 완화되는 정도.
